A coroner's court at Milford Haven, on Wednesday, heard of the circumstances leading up to the death, on January 16, of Dennis Rhys John Pearce, of 10 Glan Preseli, Llanddewi Velfrey.

PC Rogers presented a report, prepared by an investigating officer, which stated that the deceased, who was aged 54 and lived with his father and brother, had suffered stress having been made redundant from his job as a maintenance worker.

After lunch, he had left his home saying that he was going to get some cigarettes.

A Mrs. Maureen Gamble had observed him walking towards Panteg Farm at about 3.30 pm, and it was some time later that a Mr. Tom Cooney, who went to attend some livestock which he kept at Panteg Farm, discovered the body hanging by some synthetic rope in one of the farm sheds.

The emergency services were quickly alerted, but life was found to be extinct. A post mortem examination confirmed that death was due to hanging.

Mr. Michael Howells, coroner, stated that there were no other suspicious circumstances and the only conclusion that he could come to was that Mr. Pearce had taken his own life.
