Sir,
In reply to the letter in last week's Observer from Mr. J. H. T. Griffiths, maybe he is living in a world of his own like Cloud Cuckoo Land. How on earth can anyone in their right mind say that a CAS being put right next door to a nursing home for EMI residents is not wrong. My sister is in that home, along with 39 other residents.
Has he got a real record of the, quote, 'many potential sites', unquote, that PCC have been looking at for more than six years. Yes, we have had a well-organised and well-managed protest campaign, and we will continue for as long as it takes to make people like him and PCC realise that these people have equal human rights just like they do.
We have actually mentioned several alternative sites at various meetings and letters to PCC, one being Kilgetty Common. And, as for saying that the landscaping of the proposed site would protect and enhance the tranquility of the garden at Brooklands Home, well the only answer I can give to that is he is either void of any feelings for these people in the home, some of whom fought in wars to keep this world free of strife, or he is completely arrogant.
How would you Mr. Griffths like to spend your final years right next to a rubbish tip with lorries going in and out from early morning until late evening. These people need peace and quiet not the rumble of heavy and lighter traffic, i.e. cars going in and out for 12 hours a day.
If you think this is a good idea putting this site next to a nursing home, why don't you offer to have it next door to your home.
Sheila John,
Pembroke Dock.
