Following Foot and Mouth movement restrictions imposed last Friday, Pembrokeshire County Council animal health and welfare inspectors are considering action against a farmer found to be illegally moving livestock. Inspectors are carrying out regular checks for illegal movements throughout the county but, apart from this one incident, the farming community are complying with the ban. At present, no livestock are allowed to move, except milking cows along a highway. Farmers are asked to check the DEFRA and Welsh Assembly Government websites for further information or telephone the Animal Health Agency on 01267 245400 or the County Council on 01437 764551.
