Tenby and District Lions Club held their annual dinner at the Giltar Hotel, recently, where member Keith Nixon said grace and the club enjoyed a three-course meal to start the evening.

In his opening remarks, Lions president Lloyd Wilton introduced the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, before various awards were presented.

The first went to Lions Sue James, Julie Buckland and Peter Roderick for attendance and service to the Lions. Lion of the Year also went to Julie Buckland, while a special award went to Lion Bob Turnbull, who at the grand age of 92 was the most senior and honorary life member. Lion Rob Mayhew also received an award for 10 years service.

Outgoing president Lloyd Wilton then handed over the presidency to Lion Edward Weldrake, while there was a returning speech by district officer, Lion Nigel Skipper.

Tenby and District Lions Club would like to thank Mr. Pat Jenkins and Mr. Malcolm Brace, and Phil the chef for the evening meal, for their support of the Giltar Hotel over the past year. All new members are welcome to join the Lions Club on first Monday of every month.
