Pictured are representatives of Tenby Air Training Corps receiving a cheque for £750 from Mr. Eddy Weldrake, president of the Tenby and Saundersfoot branch of Lions International. Tenby Lions have had a close association with Tenby ATC for several years as part of their 'support local youth campaign'. The Lions have regularly attended the cadets' annual presentation dinner to present the Lions Cup for 'work in the community' and with their presence, helped to make the occasion so successful. The cadets have helped Tenby Lions with several of their fund-raising activities, including marshalling at their immensely popular sponsored horse ride held twice a year at Lydstep Point to Point course and the ever-popular Paella Festival at Tenby Harbour, although it must said, the cadets sometimes eat as much paella as the holidaymakers! Cadets have also handed out over 500 flyers advertising the Lions' two Christmas fairs held over two weekends in the De Valence Pavilion, The next event the cadets will be helping the Lions with will be the distribution of hot soup at the Boxing Day Swim on Tenby's North Beach. The cadets will also provide a 4x4 vehicle and stretcher to remove any casualties from the beach if so required. Staff and cadets of the Tenby Squadron Air Training Corps extend very many thanks to the Tenby Lions for their support.
