On Saturday, June 10, a group of lifelong friends held an event at Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth, to raise funds for JDRF and Breast Cancer Care. All have been closely affected by type 1 diabetes and breast cancer and wanted to ‘give something back’ while raising awareness of the life-changing work done by both charities. Along with a family bingo and headshaving event, the group have raised an expected £8,651.25 to be split equally between the causes.

There are many individuals and businesses who generously gave their time and resources to help make this happen and the fundraising group would like to extend their thanks to all:

Thanks also to Jackie and the staff at the Plas, Narberth, for going above and beyond the call of duty in every aspect of organising and carrying out this event. An absolutely enormous thank you to Marley, Archie, Isaac and Jack for fearlessly sacrificing their hair for the cause and for being such amazing friends to one another. Thanks, too, to Narberth CP School for hosting the headshaving event, selling wristbands and cakes, and to Sharon and everyone at Utopia for cutting the hair. Similarly, thank you to Narberth RFC for hosting the bingo night.
