At 4.15 am on Sunday, Milford Haven Coastguard received a call from a resident of Tenby Harbour stating that a group of persons in a party mood had taken a rib and sped out to sea from the harbour.
Fearing for their safety, Tenby RNLI all-weather lifeboat Haydn Miller was requested to launch and investigate.
A thorough search of the area was made from Caldey Island to Saundersfoot with nothing found.
On returning to the lifeboat station, the volunteer lifeboat crew spotted a 24-foot cruiser which had drifted against the North Walk sea wall after parting its moorings in the North Bay.
The inshore lifeboat was launched to assist in the recovery of the vessel and securing it safely in the bay.
