It takes just seven minutes from the time the pager sounds to Tenby's Tamar Lifeboat to hit the water, thanks to the speed that the crew can run to the station.

The volunteer crew hope to better that and this year and also raise some much-needed funds at the same time, so some of our crew and helpers have decided to run the Tenby 10k in aid of Tenby RNLI and help save more lives at sea.

If fact, they welcome anyone wishing to join their group and run in aid of Tenby RNLI in this great local event.

For further details, please contact Tenby Lifeboat Station at [email protected]">[email protected] or call 842197and they'll do the rest.

Pictured (from left) are Matt Broadhurst, Rhys Thomas, Imogen John (not running!), Phil John, Robert James, Elliot Randall and Steve Lowe. Also running are Phil Rees, Jazz Langdon, Pat Brennan, and William Thomas.

The annual Tenby 10k takes place on July 31, at 11 am, and follows a scenic route in and around Tenby.

Medals and T-shirts will be given to all runners, plus there will be cash prizes for age category winners, and a weekend break for the fastest male and female runners.
