Tenby's all-weather lifeboat launched at approximately 2.20 pm on Wednesday after Swansea coastguard received a distress signal from an EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) in Carmarthen Bay.

Pendine firing range closed to allow the lifeboat and RAF Sea King helicopter 169 to head to the position.

During passage, the coastguard carried out further investigations and managed to make contact with the registered owner of the beacon who reported his vessel to be safe at harbour.

Once the lifeboat reached the position, nothing was seen.

The lifeboat returned to its outer moorings and re-housed yesterday (Thursday) morning when sea conditions allowed a safe recovery.
