A yacht taking on water nine miles East South East of Caldey Lighthouse was asssisted by Tenby's all-weather lifeboat.
The lifeboat was launched shortly after 5.30 pm on Monday to go to the aid of the yacht, Magic Dragon, which had started taking on water through a hole in the stern.
The vessel was struggling to stay head to the wind.
An RNLI crew member was put on board the yacht to relieve the exhausted crew and helm it while under tow back to Tenby.
Once in Tenby Roads, the vessel was placed on an outside mooring until it could be brought into the harbour.
The yacht was on passage from Swansea to Milford Haven when the crew got into difficulty.
