The future of Tenby Library in its current home is under discussion, it has been revealed this week.

The library is currently collocated with the Community Learning Centre in Greenhill Avenue.

However, Pembrokeshire County Council say its location within the building and its small size, compromise both the level of usage and its ability to deliver some services, such as accommodating large school group visits.

The local authority recognises that public libraries play a vital role in priorities around literacy, providing accessible digital opportunities, promoting our culture and helping to reduce inequalities.

"We have, and will continue to, invest in our library infrastructure to ensure that our libraries are fit for purpose and can meet the needs of our communities," said a spokeswoman.

"In the case of Tenby, discussions are taking place on potential alternative locations for the library that would better enable us to meet these priorities. No decisions have been made at this time."
