'LIBERATED Rebels', an exhibition by 19 members of the Pembrokeshire branch of the Embroiderers Guild, was officially opened at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery on Wednesday by Lord Parry of Neyland.
This exhibition has been largely influenced by the fascination of the light, colour, texture, pattern, line and rhythm of the Pembrokeshire coastline.
It is an enthusiastic, skilful, challenging and highly creative collection in which these "liberated artists' take the viewer beyond the concepts of traditional embroidery into a world of emotive, abstract images.
Accompanying the exhibition will be a series of talks and workshops for both adults and children. These activities are important aspects of the work of the Embroiderers' Guild whose motto 'sharing opportunities for discovery and creativity' enables them to promote, encourage and educate the public in the art of embroidery and to undertake and support research in embroidery and related crafts.
A few places are available for the adult workshop on June 24.
For further information on the exhibition and its events, please contact Tenby Museum and Art Gallery (tel. 01834 842809).
The 'Liberated Rebels' exhibition continues until June 27 and is open every day 10 am -5pm. Last admission 4.30 pm.
