People in Pembrokeshire are being encouraged to nominate inspirational individuals in order to repeat the success of local Womenspire 2021 winner, Leanne Holder.

Leanne, a Narberth-based businesswoman, won in the Entrepreneur category last year having turned her passion for the automotive industry in to the successful BecauseRaceCarBox – a subscription box for car cleaning enthusiasts, and it’s hoped that West Wales will get nominating again.

Run by gender equality charity, Chwarae Teg, the Womenspire Awards aim to recognise and highlight the achievements and contributions of remarkable people from all walks of life.

Now in their seventh year the awards will, for the first time ever, become a hybrid event – taking place at a the Pierhead Building, Cardiff, whilst being simultaneously broadcast to thousands online via ITV Cymru Wales’ Face Book Live and Twitter.

The event has only been run ‘virtually’ for the last two years due Covid -19 but will be back with a bang – promising an epic night of inspirational stories and entertainment.

Nominations are open until April 5, with the Womenspire Awards 2022 taking place on Thursday, September 29. Women will be awarded in the following categories: Community Champion; Woman in Sport; Rising Star; Learner; Entrepreneur; Leader; Woman in STEM; Woman in Health and Care Community Connector – an award specifically for women with a learning disability.

There will also be a Gender Equality Champion Award – open to an individual of any gender – to recognise their proactive approach to close the gender divide in their workplace.
