As part of many events taking place to mark the 75th anniversary of Haverfordwest Lawn Tennis Club, Sunday June 13, saw a special day of tennis for all present members followed by a fabulous dinner in the clubhouse.
Peter Drew, CEO of Tennis Wales, attended the event and provided an insight into his role developing tennis in all corners of Wales.
He also presented the club chairman, Peter Lilley with its 'Clubmark' plaque.
Clubmark was introduced by Sport England in 2002 and is currently being implemented across 34 sports.
The LTA administers its own version of Clubmark based on the national guidelines for best practice combined with real life examples of successfully run places to play across the country.
David Banner provided a memorable talk on the history of tennis in Pembrokeshire, to which he himself made a huge contribution as a player, coach, umpire, team captain, club chairman and vice-chairman.
His publication, 'Everyone for Tennis', is available from the club treasurer Mrs. Sue Jones on 01437 741303.
