A young singer songwriter from Pembroke Dock has called upon the musical members of her family to help organise a special event to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Lauren George has been an ambassador for Race For Life UK since being diagnosed in 2005 with Leukemia.
She has raised hundreds of pounds for the charity Cancer Research UK ever since, writing a song last year 'Hold The Light' which told of her experiences with the disease, which gained radio play while Lauren was also asked to appear on the BBC Wales morning show with Jamie Owen to tell people about her song and to get people involved with Race For Life.
This year to do something different Lauren contacted Cancer Research UK with the idea of raising money by putting on a dance in Pembroke Dock, which the charity has given it's backing to.
The event titled 'Dance For Life' will take place at the Pater Hall, on Saturday, May 26, from 7.30 pm til late, with a licensed bar on the night, raffle and plenty of entertainment in what will be a ticket only charity do.
To get the event up and running Lauren got on board her grandmother Clr. Pam George to help, while after this step it was time to get the rest of her family involved, first by persuading her brother Craig George to do 'George's Disco' and then her cousin Malcolm George who entertains as a singer under the stage name Mally.
Her dad Jonathan was next to be enlisted for help and after a few phone calls to his brother Paul and cousin Phillip, the event took shape with the boys bringing back for one night only Blue Sapphire, a group that they all performed in during the late 1970s.

Lauren's dad and cousin Phillip will also reform Sky High the duo that they formed in the 60s that they haven't played under for nine years since Jonathan was diagnosed with cancer 2003.
Phillip's son Mathew will also be taking to the stage with Lauren herself to sing some newer songs, which will lead into the main performance of the evening with Lauren's uncle Paul who is known as Billy G bringing the show to an end with his act that had seen him entertain in hotels across Pembrokeshire.
"Thanks to him for taking the night off from his bookings to give his time to the cause and to all my family and everyone else involved in this event," said Lauren, who would also like to thank all the local firms for donating prizes for the raffle which will be held on the night.
People attending the event are requested to wear pink clothing or a pink item which shows support for the Race For Life.
There is still time if anyone else would like to donate a prize for the raffle or purchase a ticket to the event, with every penny donated to the charity.
Tickets are £10 and you can get them by contacting Lauren's mum Tracy George on 01646 684269 or 07880758671.
