Pembrokeshire County Council's 'Return to Learn' Education service recently launched a series of information days and its new leaflet at the Coronation Community Education Centre in Pembroke Dock.
Agencies and training providers working in the locality were invited to the centre.
They were shown the opportunities for adults to 'brush up' on their English and mathematics skills in a friendly environment with computer support.
They met with Return to Learn tutors, discussed ideas and saw displays of student work.
The launch was also an ideal opportunity to agencies to meet and work together in order to address the Basic Skills Strategy for Wales.
Pembrokeshire County Council Return to Learn Officer, Chris Birch said: "The strategy requires that we work together, in partnership, to face the challenge of providing basic skills opportunities for people across Pembrokeshire in towns, rural areas, community settings, social settings employment and training."
The 'Return to Learn' Service provides free tuition for adults in small groups and a friendly atmosphere at community education centres in the towns of Pembroke Dock, Tenby, Haverfordwest, Fishguard, Neyland, Hubberston, Crymych, Narberth and in other settings such as family centres and schools.
Subjects include reading, writing, spelling, mathematics, communication skills and English for speakers of other languages. Students have the opportunity to gain qualifications in these areas.
