Ffrindiau Ysgol Arberth (Friends of Narberth CP School) recently held a very successful 'Late Summer Ball' at the Queen's Hall, Narberth. The function room was transformed and beautifully decorated. A large number of parents, staff, friends and visitors joined in the atmosphere and during the evening a raffle was drawn, with prizes very kindly donated by local businesses, followed by a wonderful 'Promise Auction', with very generous items donated by local individuals, parents and businesses. The auctioneer for the evening was Mr. Huw George, who ensured that each item was sold for its full worth and more. The evening concluded with everyone in the dancing mood. It was an excellent evening where over £3,000 was raised for school funds. This money will be used to purchase items for all the individual classes for the children to enjoy, pay for Christmas presents and parties for the pupils etc. Sincere thanks must go to everyone who supported the evening by organising, donating prizes and items for the auction and for attending. No doubt it will now be an annual event.
