Pembrokeshire County Council's licensing department is to gather information first before acting on a request by Tenby Town Council to look into allegations of frequent 'late night rowdiness' occurring on one of the resort's streets.

The town's Deputy Mayor, Clr. Paul Rapi recently claimed at a meeting that behaviour late at night on St. George Street was getting out of control, with a number of 'rowdy incidents' needing looking into by the police and Pembrokeshire County Council's licensing authority, while Clr. Lawrence Blackhall suggested that the town council hosted a meeting where councillors could discuss the issue with the police inspector, county council licensing officers, licensees and the LVA.

The town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, told members at a meeting of the town council on Tuesday night, that he'd received correspondence from one of the authority's licensing officers who said that they weren't prepared to proceed with a meeting at this stage, but were looking at gathering evidence on incidents in that area and any complaints.

Mr. Davies said that the licensing department would be circulating monitor sheets that could be filled in to garner information.

Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas said that anyone living locally who had a problem with noise issues emanating from the street in question, could fill one of the forms out, while Clr. Blackhall said that he still felt that a meeting to engage with shopkeepers, businesses, licensees and residents, would be beneficial.
