The recent sponsored walk from Saundersfoot to Wiseman's Bridge and back has raised the magnificent sum of £5,000 for LATCH.
As reported in last week's Observer, over 150 adults and children put their best feet forward despite the wet weather, a week last Sunday afternoon, to take part in the event called a Walk for Phoebe and Friends.
Organised by Gill Priestland, a member of the support staff at Saundersfoot CP School, the walk was held to raise money for the charity, Llandough Aims to Treat Children with cancer and leukaemia with Hope, after two-and-a-half-year-old Phoebe Munro-Goddard, of Clayford Road, Kilgetty, was diagnosed with leukaemia at the start of the summer holidays.
"Our school motto is everybody wins with teamwork and we have certainly proved it works with the walk," said Gill this week.
"The support we have received has been absolutely amazing and I would once again like to thank everybody in the community for their hard work which helped make the event such a success."
And following the walk, LATCH vice-president, well-known Radio Wales personality, Roy Noble, called in at Saundersfoot School on Wednesday, where one of Phoebe's brothers is a pupil, to talk about his work with the charity.
