DALES Music Shop, in Tenby, is featured in a new film about record shops, called 'Last Shop Standing'. The film is based on a book by Graham Jones, who has worked in the music business for many years, and who has seen the number of UK record shops decline from over 2,000 in the '80s to just over 200.

Laurie Dale is featured, talking about the golden era of the '60s when people bought huge quantities of records by the likes of Tom Jones and the Beatles. Laurie was invited to the premiere in London on September 5, where he mingled with other stars of the film such as Paul Weller, Richard Hawley and Billy Bragg.

Dales record store opened in 1954, originally selling pianos. Over the years, the shop has seen many changes in the music business, and has become a popular attraction for regular visitors to Tenby. Not only do they order music from all over the world, but also send music to people all over the world, including Switzerland and China, amongst others.

The film not only includes Laurie, but also store manager Richie Westmacott, who performs a song he wrote especially for the film. The DVD is now available in Dales, price £9.99.
