Manorbier Newton Fundraisers are back to what they do so well: charity fundraising, well actually charities…

On Saturday, February 18, Lamphey Village Hall was THE place to be; lots of happy, chatting people enjoying a super Soup & Pudding Lunch.

The tables were decorated with spring flowers to provide a lovely setting.

There were two hours of hectic activity, both in the kitchen & in the hall .

Choosing from the three tasty soups was only the start of the difficult decisions. The stunning range of hot and cold desserts, all lovingly homemade, gave guests a real dilemma!

The raffle was extremely well supported and the hampers were fabulous, full of donated items from Manorbier Newton Villagers and their friends.

“Many thanks to everyone who came to support this wonderful and worthwhile event,” say the fundraisers. “Special thanks to our helpers, who although not from Manorbier Newton, give us their exemplary support without fail. It also wouldn’t happen without the organisational skills and vision of Helen Brickell who inspires us all .

“All the hard work by Manorbier Newton residents and their kind helpers was rewarded with a stunning total raised to be given between the three chosen charities: Drum roll… £ 1,250.00.

“The charities, who came to see us as well, are:

The Trussell Trust ( Pembroke Dock)

Sandy Bear, Pembrokeshire’s Children bereavement charity dedicated to improving and strengthening the emotional health and well-being of young people aged 0-18 (and their families) who have suffered a bereavement.

“Homeless Pembrokeshire who aim to raise awareness of homelessness and to help those who become homeless with individual items or a full emergency pack and much more .

“It gives us, here in Manorbier Newton, a good feeling that you can give something back to your local area, to people in need.

“Thank you!”
