Pembroke Ladies Under 18s played Tenby Ladies Under 18s in the Welsh Hockey Union Under 18s Cup sponsored by the RAF. From the whistle, Pembroke totally dominated this fixture and opened the scoring within the first five minutes. From then on it was one-way traffic, with Pembroke attacking strongly and Tenby defending like their lives depended on it, but they could not prevent the 'birthday girl', Carys Jones, from giving Pembroke a six-nil lead at half-time. The second half started in the same fashion, with Pembroke applying the pressure from midfielders Catherine Owen, Catherine McNally, Rosie Hill and Catherine Hunter, which resulted in some lovely attacking play that gave forwards Nadia Lawrence, Hayley Preece and Carys Jones plenty of scoring opportunites. The Pembroke defence of Victoria Scourfield, Rosie McBride, Tasha Lawrence, Kathryn Frazer, Laura Scott and sweeper Hannah Thomas were virtually untroubled, Pembroke running out winners by 14 goals to nil. Tenby put up a spirited performance and kept working hard until the final whistle Many thanks to Jane Wheeler and Gill Lewis for umpiring.
