A fundraising event held at Trefloyne Manor Golf Club back in the summer proved to be a tremendous success, raising a phenomenal £4,400 for the Paul Sartori Foundation, Pembrokeshire’s Hospice at Home service.

It was a beautiful summer’s day as teams from near and far came together for the Trefloyne Ladies Captain’s Charity Golf Day, hosted by Ladies Captain, Julie Llama.

Julie had set herself a personal goal of raising enough to cover a full day’s worth of clinical care provided by the charity within Pembrokeshire, approximately £3,500.

Thanks to the incredible generosity and support from everyone involved, she surpassed that target, ensuring that local patients and their families will benefit directly from the funds raised.

“I’m absolutely overwhelmed by the kindness and support we received. My goal was to raise enough to fund a day of care in Pembrokeshire, and to exceed that is just amazing,” said Julie.

“The atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish, and I can’t thank everyone enough, from the players and sponsors to the many local businesses who helped make the day so special.”

Paul Sartori’s Community Relationship Officer, Rosie-Faye Hart, was on hand recently to receive the donation from the team at Trefloyne.

A huge thank you goes to the main sponsors: Kim and Joan Beynon, Trefloyne Manor Golf Club, Barclays Bank, M&M Hughes, The Whitland Rugby Club Junior Borderers, The Taf Hotel Whitland, and MDL Developments Ltd.

Additional thanks to the many local businesses who sponsored holes and donated prizes for the competition, including: Manorbier Castle, Folly Farm, The Giltar Hotel, Kingsmoor Garage, Manor House Wildlife Park, Heatherton World of Activities, Central Garage Whitland, Kiln Park Garage, Machynys GC, Carmarthen GC, Milford Haven GC, GD Harries & Sons, Peter Brace Electrical, ProWaste Pembrokeshire, Mill Tree Garden Services, Birt & Co, and Hains & Lewis Solicitors.

There has been terrific support from Trefloyne Golf Club members this year, as on Saturday 24th May, Wendy Derrick also ran a charity golf event in memory of her beloved late husband Steve, raising an incredible £600, which when added to the amount raised from the Charity Open Day at the end of July, gives a total of £5,000 for the Paul Sartori Foundation.

Also a huge thanks must go to Darren Watson from Barclays Bank, who used his match funding to help with raffle sales.

And last, but certainly not least, heartfelt thanks goes to all the Trefloyne members, friends, and family who supported the event by entering teams, sponsoring holes, and making donations. Your generosity made the day truly special and helped raise an incredible total for such a worthy cause.
