An array of knitting styles and colours adorned the chancel of St. Mary's Church in Pembroke this week. Knitting needles and wool were laid down for a shortwhile, though, to welcome Elizabeth Gale, Overseas Officer for the Inner Wheel Club of Pembroke, to the Chat and Craft Group.

They presented her with 12 knitted blankets which she gratefully accepted on behalf of the club and she expressed her thanks to the ladies for all their work and kindness for giving these gifts.

The blankets have been knitted over the past year by the members. They will be sent to Blythswood Charity - Christian Care for Body and Soul which was formed in Scotland in 1966. Since that date it has provided humanitarian aid, especially with disaster relief, long term care projects, telling people about Jesus and helping children.

Practical help has been given in Europe, Africa and Asia, co-operating with likeminded charities around the world, supporting the works of local care professionals who best know the needs of their communities.

Following the presentation, afternoon tea was enjoyed by all.

Anyone interested in joining the Chat and Craft Group or knitting from home, please ring 01646 683372 -wool will be provided - and you would be made most welcome.
