Spreading the grace around was the order of the day at Kings Christian Fellowship, who meet every Sunday morning at the Queen's Hall, Narberth. Professional sportsmen can have charisma, talent, may be able to attract people, but not have gifts that are a grace from God. Grace gifts are not to be used for our own desires, but to serve others. They are not for our enjoyment, but for our employment. The speaker was Paul Dando, senior pastor of KCF. Likening the building of a house to the gifts we can receive, he took us through several stages. The foundation for our life is to be built on Jesus Christ. This requires commitment. It takes wisdom to build a house, and understanding to set it on a firm foundation. You cannot build on another man's foundation. So establish one of total commitment for your life. The ground floor represents that all that we have is by pure grace. There is nothing of ourselves, and to suggest that we have built something is pride. Whatever gift we have has come to us by the grace of God. So we need a true perspective, each of us has a piece of the jigsaw, none of us is able to display all of God's character, but together we are able to give a much more complete picture. The next floors are the different gifts that are granted. A successful businessman was asked 'why is it that so many people around you are successful, 43 of your main managers became millionaires?' His reply was 'finding greatness in an individual is like mining gold, when you go to the mine you have to move tons of dirt to get an ounce of gold, but you don't go to the mine looking for the dirt.' To release the potential inside every one of us, we have to stop going to the mine looking for the dirt, and instead look for the purpose God created us. Yes there may be issues in lives that need addressing, but we need to tap into the reason as to why we were created. What a difference to be with people who look for the gold. We can release the potential in our life through serving others. By meeting a need of somebody who alone appears unable to do anything about it. You serve your way into the destiny for your life. To get to a new level God demands us to change. You will not get to that new level if you are not willing to change. We need to be change ready people. Finally, the interior of the house. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. We are carriers of grace when we serve one another. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it. We need to trust God when we know what's happening, we need to trust God when we don't. "I used to think that God's gifts were on shelves - one above another, and the taller we grow, the easier we can reach them. Now I find that God's gifts are on shelves - one beneath another and the lower we stoop, the more we get!"...F. B. Meyer. KCF are an all age church and meet every Sunday at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, at 10.30 am.
