Haven Holiday Parks - who have sites at Kiln Park by Tenby, Penally Court, and Lydstep Beach Holiday Village have announced to caravan owners that they are preparing to re-open parks on July 13 in line with the most recent advice from the Welsh Government.
Last Friday the First Minister alerted the tourism industry to start preparations to re-open if the spread of the virus continues to decline, with a date of July 13 pencilled in as a possible ‘re-start’ for the industry.
Haven caravan owners have been issued with guidance on preparing to re-open with advice on managing lettings with a view to next month.
“This is the current advice and we are waiting for final confirmation of an opening date from the Welsh Government - we appreciate this is frustrating, but as soon as we have this confirmation, we will contact you again to let you know when the parks in Wales will be opening,” owners were notified in correspondence issued by Haven Holiday Parks today (June 23)
“We would love to see more of our owners enjoying their holiday homes and the parks natural surrounding this summer. It’ll be a real breath of fresh air to the recent events!
“We will have more details about Haven Simply Letting in the coming weeks and we can’t wait to see you back at park, when we’re able to re-open.
“We realise our Haven Simply Letting owners might have a number of questions about how we will be looking after you and your holiday home when we re-open to holiday guests. We have put together a guide that will give you reassurance we are doing everything and more to keep you safe.
“We are here to help all of our owners who privately let their holiday home, either through an agent or directly. We have created a guide detailing the new guidelines and how we have adjusted the way private letting happens on our park.
“These changes will ensure we are both compliant with the Government guidelines and will keep the team and your guests safe.”
Key areas of change listed by Haven are as follows:
• All guests will need to be registered by yourself before arrival so the team know who is arriving and when; with new guidelines on how to perform key handovers safely and check in guests.
• For July holidays, the only facilities available for holiday guests will be the mini-market, takeaway food outlets and the launderette. No other facilities (including swimming pools, entertainment venues or sports and leisure activities) will be available for holiday guests and there will be no ‘Fun Passes’ available to purchase.
• Holidays from August onwards remain unaffected at this time, as government guidance and restrictions are changing rapidly meaning the facilities available might change at short notice.
• Enhanced guidelines have been issued on how to clean your holiday home before and after holiday guest visits, as well as new guidelines for the holiday guest to follow.
On a guide to privately letting, Haven stated on the new arrival system: “We have had to make a lot of changes to how we manage arrivals of owners as well as holiday guests in a safe, and contact-free environment.
“What we are doing for you, our owners, is creating an online system for you to let us know when you will be visiting the park.
“By knowing who is on park, we can quickly keep in touch with any updates, should we need to. It will also allow you to see how many owners will be at your park, so you can make an informed decision about visiting or not.”
Owners have also been notified that if they have any outstanding maintenance jobs, the team onsite will be in touch to keep them up-to-date, and will soon share in more detail about how they will be carrying out work within holiday homes so it is safe for everyone.
