SPAN Arts presents Kill for a Seat Comedy on Thursday, May 21, at the Queen's Hall, Narberth
This monthly stand-up comedy night has become something of a local institution, attracting crowds of regulars and newcomers to see some of the best stand-ups on the national circuit.
But May's Kill for a Seat promises to be something special.
The headliner for the evening is Time Out Comedy Award-winner Simon Bligh (pictured). Simon is manic Liverpudlian and a man of strange passions: philosophy and Zen, leather trousers and motorbikes, Japan, unarmed combat - and stand up comedy.
He has been nominated for a Perrier Award, and his mastery of razor-sharp observation and easy rapport with a crowd have left him in great demand nationally and internationally. He recently starred in a Channel 4 programme, 'Dojo Rising', about his love for all aspects of martial arts, from '70s Kung Fu movies to video games, and he has a string of TV credits to his name.
Appearing with Simon will be the ever-delightful Andy White, a Brummie who escaped from a call centre to become a stand-up comic.
He combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect, embracing silly voices, funny faces, observational humour, topical humour and his mixed race background.
Holding the whole evening together will be the wonderful Silky, a firm favourite with the Queen's Hall audience and well known as one of the best comperes in the business. He effortlessly brings audiences together in tears of laughter, despatches hecklers with devastating ease, and is generally extremely good value.
Regulars will know that Kill for a Seat is an extremely popular night, and advanced booking is strongly recommended.
Doors open 7.30, show starts 8 pm.
Tickets are £9/£7 (Span Arts members and concessions) and they can be bought on 869323 or on Span Arts website, http://www.span-arts.org.uk">www.span-arts.org.uk. There are no booking fees - the price is the same wherever you buy a ticket
