• KBCC set its Annual Precept for 2019/20 at £25,000, the same rate as for 2018/19.
• Pembrokeshire County Council (PCC) had now undertaken the additional landscaping at Miners’ Field, Kilgetty.
• KBCC had responded to PCC with comments on those Candidate Sites located in KBCC’s area and now proposed in the new Local Development Plan.
• The Rural Futures Initiative in Kilgetty and Begelly continues to move forward with further events planned for January 18-19 at the Community Centre between 10 am and 4 pm. The events are badged as ‘My Square Mile’ and offer the chance for local people to explore their views on the local area and its future. The local Scouts and Cubs Group and Stepaside CP School were involved. Local residents were invited to attend at some point during the two days, with free tea and coffee available throughout.
• Dyfed-Powys Police surgeries continue to be held in the Community Centre, Kilgetty, on the second Thursday of each month between 10 am and 12 noon. Some KBCC councillors would also be in attendance.
• Surface dressing of Carmarthen Road (between Sardis Road and the junction with the A477) would be taking place this year by PCC. Some pothole repair work would be undertaken initially, in readiness for the surface dressing.
• Local residents and organisations are encouraged to send information on special events in the area to the clerk, who will then consider for inclusion on the KBCC website.
Planning
KBCC considered the following planning application and after discussion made the following recommendation to Pembrokeshire County Council: Erect a conservatory at 1 Newton Fields, Kilgetty (approval recommended).
County Clr. David Pugh’s Report
County Clr. Pugh provided the following report:
• The Dyfed-Powys Police surgeries at the Community Centre, Kilgetty, continue to take place on the second Thursday of each month. An update was provided at the latest surgery on the two recent major incidents in Kilgetty and in Begelly.
• Fly-tipping continues to take place at the Co-operative’s car park in Kilgetty. Members of the public are encouraged to report to PCC any fly-tipping taking place.
Next Meeting
The next meeting of KBCC is scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 14, in the Plum Room, Kilgetty-Begelly Community Centre, commencing at 7 pm. A 15-minute public participation session is always scheduled prior to the start of full council meetings.
