As part of their community based project with the XL Club, five Year 10 students, Arron Sutton, Pearl Probert, Ceri Morgan, Catrin Harris and Vicki Thomas, carried out a survey which looked at the lack of facilities for young people in the Kilgetty area.
The group designed their own questionnaire and interviewed 30 young people from Kilgetty. With their findings they researched their neighbourhood for possible 'waste land' that could be utilised for young people.
The group then wrote to the Kilgetty/Begelly Community Council with their proposal and in turn were invited to a meeting to present their results.
The meeting took place last Thursday, March 13, with both parties agreeing that the young people needed more things to do in the area. The main concern was funding.
The councillors asked the XL group to continue with their research and to keep them informed.
Congratulations to the students who worked very hard for their project and thanks to Mrs. Janet Ward for inviting them to the meeting.
