Women's Group

Members of the St. Mary's Church, Begelly, Women's Group reconvened on February 11 following several weeks of illnesses combined with inclement weather.

Plans were announced for a Shrove Tuesday pancakes and bingo evening, and a St. David's Day church service, which will be followed by coffee and Welsh cakes in the hall.

A speaker from Age Concern dealt with measures available to enable the elderly and disabled to remain safely in their own homes.

Entitled 'Independent Living', details were given of attendant allowances, carers support and Care Call, a telephone 'check-up' service.

Further details and newsletters may be obtained from Pamela, of Age Concern, on 01437 769972.

Volunteers - of all ages - are needed to help with this most necessary service.
