This month's outing was to the green fields of Trefloyne, to enjoy the hospitality of the course and restaurant. Twenty-three able bodies turned out, including two newcomers, Rob Cottle and Peter Davies.
First group away comprosed Wayne Helmut Connaut, Mike Fungus Hamilton and Steve Oars Jones. The rough proved disastrous for some and scores were not as good as expected.
Following were Trevor Santa Lewis, Rob Upside down face Cottle and John Sweet-water Sheppard. Santa, a Trefloyne member, led the way with scintillating golf.
Next out were Ed ? Pritchard, Steve Eleanor Rigby and Mark Woody Wood. All took a liking to the course, showing good scores.
Last from the first tee were, Glyn Caravan Latcham, John Scribe James, Peter, Bro of Mike Davies, and Mike Janitor Thomas. Both Peter and Mike found the course tough, losing a few balls.
Leading off from the 10th tee were Keith Lukewarm Warmington, Martin Del Boy Davies and Rick Alls Well Lewis. With some wayward shots, the air was blue at times, cursing themselves of course!
Next off were Terry Foggy Harvey, Barry Chippy Wood and John Homer Perrott. Foggy had a good round, but his partners were below par.
Last away were Roger elf-n-safety Hancock, Peter Huggy Hughes, Bob Bart Simpson and Glyn Da-Loo Jones. No fireworks from this foursome; their handicaps will not be lowered.
Back in the 19th hole, we all enjoyed a choice of Arno's meals - his belly pork is sumptuous. On to the presentations and with a grand 40 points, the winner was Santa Lewis - well done, you're sure to have at least four off your handicap! Second was Caravan Latcham with 35 pts and in third place with 34, Foggy Harvey. OAP prize went to Da-Loo Jones - no more wooden spoons. Over 20 handicap winner was Bart Simpson with 31 pts - he'll soon be below 20. Longest drive was won by Santa Lewis, a rare occurrence as he is not known for long drives. Nearest the pin was Huggy Hughes at 1m 28cms.
The wooden spoon ended up with Fungus Hamilton - points total kept quiet! The only two went to Huggy Hughes.
The team prize was won by Ed ? Pritchard, Steve Eleanor Rigby and Mark Woody Wood.
Once again, thanks to Woody for all his efforts and thanks to Trefloyne for a lovely day.
Next month's meeting is at South Pembs on August 12, sponsored by the Ivy Bush of Narberth. Names to Woody or Chippy as soon as possible.
