Kilgetty Golf Society held its inaugural annual dinner and presentation evening at the Cambrian Hotel, Saundersfoot, on Friday, August 5. As expected, it was very well supported by players and their partners, who had a grand time.

After a marvellous meal (thanks to the chef and his staff), Woody welcomed all who were there. He also thanked the Cambrian for hosting the society and their most efficient staff.

He then presented the Winter League trophies to the very worthy winners as follows: The Perpetual Shield was won by Rick Lewis (for the second year running). In second place was Gareth Phillips (statuette) and a very close third place trophy went to Rob Wilcox (statuette). Kenny Badham received the nearest the pin trophy for his astonishing shot (almost a hole-in-one) at Glyn Abbey. The longest drive went to Gary Hopkins for his incredible drive at Haverfordwest. The wooden spoon trophy was awarded to Wyn Hopkins, who hopes he won't get it next year!

Rick then thanked Woody for all his hard work in organising venues and transport during the league season and for organising the dinner, saying that without his unwarranted hard work none of this would have ever taken place.

Finally, Barry reiterated all Rick had said and added how good it was to see so many of the golfers' ladies present and thanked them for their support. After the formalities, a wonderful evening was had by all with dancing into the early hours, to the music of the fantastic Tenby duo, "'Now and Then'. We now look forward to the next one.
