Following the success of the Fun Weekends of the last few years, which the local community has supported and enjoyed so much, the Begelly Kilgetty Community Association in partnership with the Kingsmoor Sports Social Club are again organising a carnival weekend. No carnival can be run without a committee. So first and foremost I would like to thank all the carnival committee for their dedication and hard work in organising this year's event. The Begelly Kilgetty Community Association does a lot more than organising a carnival. I would also like to thank the committee for all the hard work it does throughout the whole year, helping to make our villages a more pleasant place to live. To give you some idea of the activities undertaken by the association, we have Kilgetty in Bloom, the planting and maintaining of the borders in both villages. Litter picks which are done with the help of the Cubs and Scouts. We also have a library in the Community Centre, and short mat bowls. We have also furnished the villages with Christmas trees and lights. All this work is undertaken by volunteers and we are very grateful to them for giving their time to help enhance the community. Thank you. We have two major projects in hand: the first is to try and purchase the piece of land next to the Tourist Information Centre for community use; the second is to purchase the land behind the doctors for wildlife. The Community Association is open to all, and new members are always welcome. Meetings are held on the last Monday of every month at the Community Centre at 7.30 pm. I would also like to thank everyone from the Kingsmoor Sports Social Club for all their help and hard work to ensure the success of this weekend. My final word is to wish everyone who attends the weekend a very enjoyable and 'fun' time.
