At a recent meeting of Kilgetty Begelly Community Council, the following items were discussed:

It was understood that residents who objected to the development of 115 properties in Begelly (11/0687/PA-residential development of 115 properties. Land south of Sunnyside, Parsonage Lane, Begelly) had written individual letters, as well as signing a group letter.

Dog owners were reminded to clean up after their dogs and dispose of the waste in rubbish bins provided.

A public meeting would be held at 7 pm in the Community Hall on Thursday, January 12. This meeting was to discuss the possibility of putting allotments on the Miners Field.

The annual audit was returned and the community council considered the level of Fidelity Guarantee. The present level was considered to be adequate.

Clr. Price commented on the mess created by the new bus stop in front of the hall. It was agreed the clerk would request the corner be altered so that buses using the stop did not cut the corner.

The clerk informed council that a small annual fee for two new electricity poles would be payable. Also, that payment would be backdated for six years. The electricity company confirmed in writing that they would be happy to move the poles in future if needed.

Members of the community council attended a planning meeting in relation to application number 11/0436/PA (two gypsy caravans, toilet block, engineering works, drainage, landscaping and parking. Land South of Kilgetty Cottages, Kilgetty). The community council would send representatives to any further meetings in relation to that application.

Clr. Anderson and Clr. Price reported back on the association meeting. PLANED would soon provide instruction boards for the green gym equipment. The community council thanked the association for providing the Christmas lights and trees each year. A donation was received from the sports club for the Bulldog Run. Clr. David Anderson, who is chairperson of the community council, was elected chairperson of the community association. Community councillors gave their congratulations and best wishes for the year ahead.

Planning decisions received: extension to farm buildings - Folly Farm, Begelly(granted with conditions); tree surgery - 13 James Park, Kilgetty (granted with conditions).
