Clr. Anderson chaired the November meeting of Kilgetty Begelly Community Council.

Prior to the meeting commencing, 11 residents made representations about a planning application for the proposed development of 120 properties on land south of Sunny Side, Parsonage Lane, Begelly. Residents had sent a letter signed by 20 households to the planning department at Pembrokeshire County Council. They had 10 objections: 1. Inappropriate site location; 2. Lack of public consultation; 3. Lack of pre-assessment reports; 4. Development scale and density is too large for the site; 5. Inaccuracy of some of the plans; 6. Poor access to the development site; 7. Lack of capacity within existing utilities; 8. Site is geologically unsuitable; 9. Previous planning applications for the site have been rejected; 10. Adverse impact on adjoining and nearby properties.

The application was discussed by the councillors and it was agreed a letter of objection would be sent to the planning department.

The following items were discussed at the meeting:

A bench or tree were considered to commemorate the Queens Jubilee. Council favoured a bench. A final decision would be made at the January meeting.

Dog owners were reminded to clean-up after their dogs and dispose of the waste in rubbish bins provided.

The new play area was completed.

Clr. Price commented on the mess created by the new bus stop in front of the hall. It was agreed the clerk would request that the corner be altered so that buses using the stop did not cut the corner.

The clerk was instructed to request that the tree on Station Road be cut so that it did not obscure the street light,

The clerk was instructed to write to Western Power Distribution asking for further information on their request to put electricity posts on the Common.

Clr. Anderson and Clr. Price reported back from the association meeting: The coal truck had been repaired and put back in the garden; an additional heater had been purchased; the roof tile had been replaced; PLANED may provide information boards for the green gym; a table top sale would take place on December 3; a music and mince pie event would take place at 2.30 pm on December 15.
