The following issues were among those discussed at the September meeting of Kilgetty, Begelly Community Council:
Mrs. Penny Rawlings was welcomed to the council and formally co-opted.
The Community Project has received a report back from the architect. Funding must now be found for the planning process.
Local police forums have continued. It is understood that parking regulations in Kilgetty are regularly being enforced.
The bid for Safe Routes to School has been submitted and is generally supported by the council. If the bid is successful, work on improving pedestrian routes in Kilgetty/Begelly will begin in spring 2009.
Donations were made to five local charities or local branches of national charities. These were Cross Roads, Samaritans, Wales Air Ambulance, Bobath 15 and Cruise. A grant was also made to St. Mary's Church. All six have been invited to a presentation at the November meeting of the council.
The recent flooding at Stepaside Coachworks and at the bottom of New Road was to be looked into.
Planning applications received this month: Construction of a garage and store, land north of Rose Park, Langdon, Begelly (no objection); construction of double garage. Menai House, Station Road, Kilgetty (no objection); construction of an agricultural building, Fold Park, Begelly (no objection); conversion of barns to holiday accommodation, Langdon Farm, Begelly (no ob jection); variation of condition 5 of DC/0552/82 to permit 12-month use, Stepaside Heritage Park (objection - firstly it will oversubscribe local amenities and secondly it will overload the sewage system).
Planning permission received this month: Erection of a single story extension at Windberry Cottage, Begelly.
Outline planning permission received this month: Two-storey dwelling, plot 7, Ryelands Way, Ryelands Lane, Kilgetty.
Refusal of planning permission received this month: Erection of a dwelling, land adjacent to Ashdown, Begelly.

Indoor bowls is available to all ages at the Community Centre on Monday, 2 - 4.30 pm and Thursday evenings, 7 - 9.30 pm.
The library is open on Friday afternoon at the Community Centre.
It is hoped to have a representative from the Good Neighbour scheme at the next meeting on Thursday, October 9. They will give a talk on the scheme which will start at 7 pm.
