The following issues were discussed at the September meeting of Kilgetty Begelly Community Council:
The following charities and local groups were awarded a donation in this year's S137 donations: Stepaside Community Playgroup, Reynalton Residents Association, St. Mary's Church, Wales Air Ambulance, Pembrokeshire Crossroads, Victim Support, Samaritans and All Pembrokeshire Cruse. Pavement modifications in Ryelands Lane were expected to start at the beginning of October. The council was still trying to find a tradesman who would be able to enhance the wall where the BT 'phone kiosks had removed.
Free home security for vulnerable people is available - for details contact Mark Jones, Community Safety Department, Police Station, Water Street, Pembroke Dock.
The Certificate of Achievement is awarded to any individual or group of people who you think should be nominated, for example for their good deeds, volunteering their time and effort for the good of the community. If you know of a person or group who you think deserves a Certificate of Achievement, then please write to the clerk at the council office, Carmarthen Road, Kilgetty.
Planning applications received: Remove sub- standard bungalow, barn and launderette and replace with single storey cottage - The Flat, Windy Hill, Stepaside; erection of garage/garden store - 38 Oakfield Drive, Kilgetty.
Planning permission received: Erection of conservatory - 79 Oakfield Drive, Kilgetty; detached garage and alterations and extension to existing dwelling - School House, Begelly; coffee shop/ticket office (in retrospect) - Begelly Park Gardens, Begelly.
Refusal of planning permission: Proposed new dwelling - Park of orchard rear of Copper Beech, Carmarthen Road, Kilgetty.
