At the January meeting of Kilgetty, Begelly Community Council, the following matters were discussed: Kingsmoor Common: Members were pleased that the marking/pegging of the boundary was due to take place during the month. Notice board: Following vandalism, this was to be repaired in the next couple of weeks. Precept: The precept for 2005-2006 was set at £17,500, the same figure as the previous year. Traffic: The council wrote to County Hall with a request to continue the 40 mph speed limit from the roundabout to the west of Carmarthen Road and along the A478 to Pentlepoir. Footpath: The council were to write to County Hall for an update on the modification work planned for the footpath in Ryelands Lane. Graffiti: Members had received reports of more graffiti appearing on the walls of the underpass at Station Road, which had recently been painted by Pembrokeshire County Council. It was also reported that a steel rope ladder had been found hanging from the bridge, which youths were using to climb up onto the main road. Members were concerned for the safety of the youths and decided to contact the police and the county council in the hope of finding a solution to the problem. Certificate of Achievement: This is awarded to any individual or group of people who residents think should be nominated for their good deeds, volunteering their time and effort for the good of the community etc. If you know of a person or group who you think deserves a Certificate of Achievement, then please write to the clerk, Mrs. Janet Ward at the Council Office, Carmarthen Road, Kilgetty. Planning application: one detached bungalow - land adjacent to Melris, Thomas Chapel (no objection). Planning permission received this month: alteration and extension to existing cottage/dwelling - Ashtree Cottage, Chimney Lane, Stepaside; construction of double garage and conversion of old garage to utility room and home office - Dejavu, Ryelands Lane, Kilgetty; new vehicular access - Ridgeway View, Ryelands Lane, Kilgetty.
