The following issues were discussed at the recent monthly meeting of Kilgetty Begelly Community Council:

Progress was slow with regard to Kingsmoor Common and the council was still awaiting clarification of boundaries.

Councillors wish to thank all parties and community/town councils for their letters of support for the new development of the Co-operative Store, Kilgetty.

It's that time of the year where the village is taking on its summer colours with the flower beds being planted by the members of the Association. The community council ask that all dog owners be responsible for clearing up behind their dogs, wherever they are walked. Bags are available from the TIC at the Community Centre, the chemist and the community council office/Credit Union office, Kilgetty. Let's keep Kilgetty and Begelly a tidy and clean place to be proud of.

Planning applications: Storage of implements - agricultural, Folly Farm, Begelly; Renewal of consent to convert cottage, Old House and Shed, Langdon Bridge Farm, Begelly; Proposed extension to dwelling, Dawes Cottage, Dawes Farm, Begelly; Alterations and extensions to existing dwelling and garage, Sundown, Stepaside.

An application for an extension and replacement of flat roof to pitched roof at Kilgetty Pharmacy, Kilgetty, had received planning permission, while a plan for an erection of a dwelling at Camelot, Begelly, had received outline permission.

The short mat bowls group meet Monday afternoons and Thursday evenings. They have two 45 feet long mats which can be used at the same time in the hall at Kilgetty Community Centre.

The Library is open on Friday afternoon at the Community Centre.

The temporary 40 mph speed limit west of Llanteg to east of Broadmoor is still operational.
