Kilgetty expected a really tough game and they got one.
Kilgetty started the brighter and passed the ball around well, but were held by some good Carew defending. Kilgetty got the breakthrough they were looking for as the ball rebounded out of the box. Gray attacked the space and hit a fierce right foot shoot into the roof of the net from 18 yards.
Howells in the Kilgetty goal had little to do in the first-half, but did pull off a good save when Carew broke the Kilgetty defensive line.
Kilgetty were slightly fortunate to go further ahead. When Gray put in a good cross, the 'keeper got his finger tips to the ball and as it dropped Baker pounced to make it 2-0.
Smith and Lewis were having a good game at the back for Kilgetty, using the ball well and linking up with Proctor and Bates in midfield.
Kilgetty made some changes at half-time as Howells came out of goal and Lewis took the gloves. Thomas was on at right-back.
Carew started the second-half full of spirit and were rewarded with an early goal from Harts.
They were level after a few minutes as Kilgetty were caught on the break and Davies slipped the ball through Lewis's legs.
Kilgetty came back at Carew and re-took the lead when Howells put Cope through for a one-on-one with the 'keeper and he finished well at the near post.
Kilgetty finally killed off the game in the last five minutes with a lovely individual goal from Gray.
