The Friends of Tenby Museum” have teamed up with ‘Harvey’s Murder Mysteries’ to present a fund-raising evening of hilarity and intrigue at The Giltar Hotel on Friday, February 8.
If you’ve ever fancied yourself as Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot, now is your opportunity to exercise the little grey cells, combined, of course, with fine dining, although, haute cuisine in this case, may involve a touch of poison. (No reflection on the Giltar’s chef, naturally).
We should also mention, perhaps, some necessary food rationing, and the possibility of an air raid, because this is 1943, and the day of Carew’s annual ‘Flower and Produce Show’.
June Howell, one of the organisers, fervently hopes to persuade Vera Lynn to pop in and give us a song. A reliable source, (Sam Skyrme-Blackwell), assures us this is highly likely, as she is already in the area entertaining the boys up at the aerodrome. So, ladies, put on your best frocks and hats, (suits, or uniforms, for gents.), and don’t miss the chance to meet everyone’s favourite star and sweetheart.
N.B. ‘40’s dress is entirely optional, as is interrogating the suspects, so if you don’t feel born to sleuth - you’re not bound to - just enjoy watching others get bound up in knots! It’s guaranteed to keep you entertained, and there’s even a prize for the first to guess ‘whodunnit’.
Tickets for the evening, starting 6.30 pm, are available from the museum or The Giltar, price £25.
