Having been held over from the previous day because of a very wet field, Templeton School sports were held on Thursday, July 4. The overcast conditions did not hinder the children's enthusiasm as they competed strongly in every event. Former pupils will be keen to learn that for the first time in 12 years Mounton house emerged as winners.

The team captains, Sian Heard, Amy Frearson and Tom Brodie, received their shield on behalf of their house.

The Victor Ludorum was awarded to Jordan Williams and the Victrix Ludorum to Bethan Barritt.

The Berian Vaughan award for outstanding performance on the day went to Lauren Blair for her contribution to the organisation of the event.

A new award was presented this year by Templeton WI. This was for the best performance by an infant. This was very difficult to judge, but was eventually given to Martha Walters.

After the sports day, the Jubilee Medals which were purchased by the PTA were awarded to every child in school to mark this Jubilee year.

On Tuesday, July 9, the annual school swimming gala took place at Narberth Pool. Every child in Years 4, 5 and 6 competed and after much effort, Templar emerged as winners.

The trophy was presented to Jack Fletcher and Alex Griffiths, team captains.

All involved in the organisation of both these events are to be thanked for their effort.
