The guest speaker at KCF - Tenby was a man named Dai Hazard from Southern Spain. He gave an amazing testimony of how he came to know Christ. Whilst in the army, he was on the verge of being thrown out for being a 'no-good drunkard'. He was only there because he thought it was a good idea and would calm his fiery temper. It actually fuelled it!
One day, he decided to go to a Christian meeting which was on campus. He was banned from all the pubs, so he thought he'd go along for a bit of a joke. He left the meeting halfway through, laughing in the preacher's face. The speaker caught up with him and told him that he was not impressed by his mocking attitude. David realised that he was wrong, apologised and actually prayed with this man
This same night, David's ban was lifted, he was allowed into the pubs. He went in and ordered a double whiskey, just as he was about to drink it he heard a voice saying "You don't need that." He thought it was the barman and just told him to shut up. It wasn't the barman! David heard the voice again and again and eventually left the drink where it was and went outside. He cried out to God, knowing that the voice was His. God proved Himself by coming and cleaning up the sin in David's life. He fell to his knees and came back up a changed man.
Since then he has worked very hard in taking the good news of Jesus Christ into North Africa, with its associated risks. He has come to an understanding of their world and their views on Christianity. David's goal is to make disciples out for Jesus Christ. It's because of people like David, who is empowered by the Holy Spirit, that others can find out. May God bless Him.
