Shihan Mike O'Brien, 8th Dan, the Chief Instructor of the Karate Union of Wales, recently attended the new Narberth CP School where Narberth Shotokan Karate Club were holding a course and grading. This was being held under the guidance of club instructor Rory Pearce.
The Narberth Karate Club has now graded Kayleigh Pearce and Richard Bakewell to 2nd Dan, and Keith Jones to 1st Dan black belt. Many Kyu grades have now also been graded, with the youngest member, Nathan, who is only five-years-old, being graded to orange belt.
"The Karate Union of Wales is the oldest Welsh Shotokan Karate organisation, with the chief instructor Mike O'Brien being one of the finest instructors in Wales," explained Rory Pearce. "It is a great honour for the Narberth club to belong to such a great organisation."
Narberth Shotokan Karate Club trains Mondays and Thursdays, 6-7.30 pm, at Narberth CP School.
