Wales Air Ambulance has received a boost thanks to the Junior Jammers of Tenby. This group of young musicians are aged between six and 14 years have performed two guitar concerts and held a raffle all in aid of the air ambulance.

They decided to support Wales Air Ambulance after members of their group were airlifted last year. On one occasion, a junior member was transported to hospital after a road accident, and on the second, a parent was taken ill after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The group meet every week on a Tuesday for beginners and on a Wednesday for the more advanced pupil at Augustus Place Community Centre where they receive tuition from Arleen Westmacott and her husband Richard.

Their son Kristian who is also an accomplished musician assists during the lessons.

The fundraising was able to collect £120 from their efforts which they presented to Tony Key OBE, Pembrokeshire coordinator for Wales Air Ambulance, and later provided musical entertainment which showed off their talents to the full. “It was a most enjoyable morning provided by young people who wanted to support a charity for the benefit of their community,” said Mr. Key.
