Last Saturday saw the first group practice their short game skills, with Mary and Gillian taking the putting session and Ian taking the chipping session.
After having a practice of putting where set up and technique was demonstrated, each had a chance to show what they had learnt in the mini competition.
Winners with Mary were Leo Davies, Alex Heaven, Georgia Williams and Josh Hunt, whilst the winners with Gillian were Max Griffiths, Sam Butler, Harrison Sharpe and Gillian Roberts making up the numbers for her team.
The second group were split into two, with Ian still on the chipping and Simon taking the chipping and putting around the fringe of the green.
With the importance of getting your chip as close as possible to the hole, shot of the day came from David Webb, who managed to chip straight into the hole, with a delighted look on his face.
The result of his chip meant that he was the overall winner after two rounds, with Gareth Tennant a close second.
Following the half-time switch around, another group had the chance to see what they could do. Although nobody chipped in, Greg Pallin scoring a two was the closest, followed by Dan Worley with a three.
The chipping group with Ian concentrated on team scoring, with the girls wanting to play in the same team against the boys, obviously confident of victory.
However, it was not to be as the winners on the day were Gareth Tennant, Sam Turton, Toby Rossiter and Oliver Worley.
Last Sunday, the juniors played in the Trefloyne Junior Open Championship and had a successful day.
Performance of the day coming from Jack Guerrerio playing off 28 handicap, coming home with a massive 46 points, some 10 under par! I see a severe handicap reduction coming! Sam Morgan came third in the medal competition with a very credible nett 73, and Rachel Scourfield also coming third in the girls stableford competition with 30 points, closely followed by Holly Watkins on 29 points.
Last Saturday saw Holly play in the Ladies monthly medal and score a gross 76 for the second week in succession, well done Holly.
Tomorrow (Saturday's) practice is at the usual time of 9 am and 10 am. Sunday sees another chance for those who have entered the Wee Wonders competition, as well as those that haven't, to have a practice of playing a par three course. If you've entered it will be well worth you having a practice whilst you can, because it is not as easy as you may think.
