A local family were jumping for joy at the weekend when they welcomed a Leap Year baby.

Little Ann Carol Sambrook was born at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, at 6.54 am on Sunday, February 29.

Weighing in at 5lb 11ozs, Ann, who was born four weeks early, is the daughter of Claire Flynn and Anthony Sambrook.

She is a granddaughter to John and Denise Flynn, of Amroth, and Terry and the late Carol Ann Sambrook, of Llanteg, and a niece to Teresa Coombes and Melissa Sambrook.

But, she will not have to wait four years for her first birthday party? No, her parents have decided she will celebrate her birthday on February 28 with her new cousin, who was born the day before her!

Claire's brother David and his partner Hayley, of Kilgetty, had a baby girl, Chloe, on Saturday.

And making up a trio of new arrivals, Claire's uncle, Tony and his wife Shanthi, who live in Hong Kong, had a baby girl on Sunday too!

Said Ann's dad, Anthony: "She will have three ordinary birthdays and on the fourth we will spoil her rotten."
