To mark Her Majesty The Queen's Golden Jubilee, Saundersfoot Community Council decided to restore and reinstate the gates at the entrance to the village's King George V Playing Fields. The gates, originally donated by the Hean Castle Estate, were refurbished by Mr. Gerald Rogers, who is pictured here at the official unveiling with community council chairman Don Poole, vice-chairman Mrs. Rosemary Hayes, Ron Brabon, Phil Baker, Aubrey Lawrence, Pam Talbot, Mary Cavill, John Griffiths and Mark Spindlove.
