Tenby and District Darts League held their annual Finals Night at Tenby Ex-Servicemen's Club on Friday.

An enthusiastic crowd of supporters was entertained by some top quality, high scoring darts from the players taking part, including eight Super League players and four county players.

Each competition was keenly contested.

A. jAMES CUP

Best of seven legs of 501, this final featured Cross, Penally, team-mates Scott Morgan and Jamie Bradfield.

It proved a high scoring affair, with Scott chalking up a maximum 180.

Nevertheless, it was Jamie who took a 2-0 lead, before Scott pulled back two games to make it 2-2, only for Jamie to win the next two and claim the cup 4-2.

PAT DART

THREE-a-side shield

Best of three legs of 601, again this was a close contest, with the Swanlake trio (Ray Muskett, Jim Williams and Chris Williams) getting the better of their Castle counterparts (G. Bond, S. Lees and R. Bazen) thanks to better finishing, taking the game 2-0.

dilwater pairs cup

It was back to best of seven legs of 501 for the Dilwater Pairs clash between J. Bradfield and S. Morgan, of the Cross, Penally, and Phillip Watkins and John Roberts, of Tenby Bowling Club.

This was one of the best games of the night. The Bowlers went into a two game lead, before the Cross pulled one back to make it 2-1. The Bowlers then went 3-1 ahead, but back came the Cross with a great fightback, winning the next two legs to take it to the seventh and deciding leg.

Like the others, this was keenly contested, with John Roberts slotting a 64 finish to win the cup for the Bowlers. Well done to both teams for an exciting game.

THE mal thomas singles cup

The blue riband event of the night was contested by James Williams, of the Swanlake, and Jamie Bradfield, of the Cross, Penally.

James was first into his stride, taking the opening leg, and with both players hitting high scores, he continued to hold the upper hand as he opened up a 3-0 advantage.

Jamie gallantly fought back to make it 3-1, but it was James who went on to win the next game and the cup, with his superior finishing being the difference between the two players.

It completed an impressive treble for the Swanlake man, as, along with the Singles, he holds the Gold Cup and the Masters Cup.

All trophies were presented by members of the league committee.

MC for the night was Mr. Chris Birch (Jeff), who did a fine job, ably supported by markers Derek, Ray and Kevin, while Liz Williams organised the raffle.
