Joyce Watson enjoyed a return visit to her old school, Manorbier School, where she met different groups of pupils including their philosophy group and their wicked waste club.

Joyce has given a foreword to a book on slavery by pupils from the school, produced by local Soroptimists. The book will be launched by Joyce on December 9 in the National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff Bay.

Joyce said: "Manorbier School is magic. It was a pleasure going back to my old school; staff, pupils and parents can be proud of the good work they do. I was delighted to meet all the pupils, who work so hard."

Joyce was surprised and delighted to meet Finlay and Albie Elliott, who live in a house she once lived in locally.

Joyce said: "It's nice to know that the boys are looking after my old home."

Head teacher Jackie Greenhouse said: "It was lovely to have the visit from Joyce."
